Angus Vincent

Angus Vincent graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy in 1996 from the University of South Australia.

Angus is the Director of Performance Physio Group at Pimlico, North Ward, Ayr and Ingham (formerly SportsMed Angus Vincent and Associates).

Under Angus’ directorship, all physiotherapists at Performance Physio Group are committed to an “outcome and results focus” for patient treatments and plans. The multi-disciplinary team focus on “hands-on” therapy and an active approach to rehabilitation. These are things Angus is dedicated to encouraging with the team and patients.

Angus has a keen interest in all sports and actively participates in triathlons. Angus has been professionally involved with many sporting teams (local and international) over his 20 year career.  Angus has been involved as a team physiotherapist for the Townsville Blackhawks, Brothers Rugby League and DanceNorth.

Kerry Heuir

Kerry Heuir graduated from University of Queensland in 1983 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Following graduation, Kerry worked as a staff physiotherapist for ten months at Royal Brisbane Hospital and three years at Townsville General Hospital. In 1988, Kerry purchased Townsville Physiotherapy Centre where she continued to operate as owner/director for twenty years. During this time, as well as working fulltime in her practice, Kerry worked as team physiotherapist for the Townsville Suns(Crocodiles) NBL team, the Townsville Heat and Flames ABA teams for many years. Over her thirty years of physiotherapy experience, Kerry has attended approximately fifty continuing education activities and courses. She is a very experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist and enjoys a relationship with many long term, loyal clients. Kerry is a senior physiotherapist and works in our North Ward Clinic

Tamara Purcell (nee. Hillier)

Tamara graduated with the first cohort of physio students through James Cook University in 2008 and began working with SportsMed/Performance Group in January 2009.

Tamara was the Senior Physiotherapist at the Mater Hospital in Townsville for more than 7 years. She enjoyed working in all areas of the acute setting, but has a particular interest in Orthopaedics. She runs Orthopaedic programs such as pre-joint replacement education class and routinely reviews patients following a variety of Orthopaedic surgeries.  Tamara now works full-time at the Townsville Family Medical Centre.  She also consults in our Ayr clinic once a month seeing Lymphoedema and Women’s Health patients

Tamara also has a keen interest in Lymphoedema management and Women’s Health and Paediatrics. Her further training in this field was completed at the Lymphoedema Academy of Australia, the Women’s Health Training Association (Sydney) and APA Paediatrics Level 1. She runs these clinics out of the Townsville Family Medical Centre and Ayr clinic and can assist with a variety of problems including incontinence, ante and post natal issues, sexual problems, pelvic pain, bladder disorders and prolapse.

In the past Tamara has assisted at JCU with tutoring the 2nd and 3rd year cardiorespiratory subjects. She was also the primary educator for 3rd and 4th year students at the Mater Hospital for 6 years. She finds the teaching aspect very rewarding seeing the growth in students over time.

Mitchell Seri

Co-Director Performance Physio Group – Ingham

 

Mitchell is a born and bred Ingham local who joined Performance Physio Group (formally SportsMed), in January 2009 after graduating from JCU with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2008.  He started working in Ingham part time in April 2009 and is now practicing full time in Ingham. Mitchell is one of the co-owner/director of Performance Physio Group Ingham along with Angus Vincent.

Mitchell has a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has achieved success in a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.  Mitchell applies a combination of hands on manual therapy, dry needling, electrotherapy and an active approach to rehabilitation with individualised exercise programs to obtain optimum results.

Mitchell is an approachable, friendly, family man with an active presence in the community and looks forward to delivering quality physiotherapy services to the Ingham community.

Katherine Shepherd

Katherine graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2015.  She works full time in our Ingham Clinic.

Katherine enjoys working as a generalist physiotherapist with a special interest in rural/remote healthcare.  She also provides physiotherapy services to aged care facilities, conducts weekly hydrotherapy classes, and provides home visits within the Ingham district.  Katherine is trained in the provision of dry needling and is a qualified level 1 sports physiotherapist.

Alex Beere

Alex Beere graduated from James Cook University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Since graduating, Alex has worked in private practice and hospitals in Townsville. Alex has a keen interest in all sports and musculoskeletal injuries, as well as hydrotherapy, dry needling and manual therapies.

Special interests include; sports physiotherapy, dry needling, cardiorespiratory physio, soccer, cricket and rugby.

Alex is the team physiotherapist for the North Ward Old Boys Rugby Club.

Connor Irvine

Connor Irvine graduated from James Cook University in 2011 with a Bachelor Degree of Physiotherapy.

Connor works within our Pimlico clinic. He has a keen interest in all sports, especially rugby union, touch football and snowboarding. Connor has also done further courses on dry needling and sports physiotherapy and believes a rehabilitation program consisting of both a hands-on approach combined with a self-driven exercise program achieves the best results for his injured patients.

Connor is the team physiotherapist for Brothers Rugby Union.

Paul Young graduated from James Cook University with a bachelor of physiotherapy in 2013. He is currently working full time in our Pimlico clinic.

Since graduating Paul has worked in multiple sectors of physiotherapy including acute hospital, private practice, sporting and aged care facilities. Now as a full time clinician he is particularly enthusiastic about post surgical rehab and sporting injuries.

Paul has a keen interest in all sports, especially rugby union, rugby league and touch football. He is a level 1 sports physiotherapist and has been involved with the Townsville Blackhawks and Brothers rugby union as a team physiotherapist.

Mathew Mee

Mathew Mee graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2013.

Since graduating, Mathew has worked primarily in private practice at our Pimlico clinic, however has also worked in a hospital, in aged care facilities and with sporting clubs. Mathew has worked as the team physiotherapist for local rugby union and soccer clubs.

Mathew has a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and orthopaedic rehabilitation, and has completed further courses in dry needling, lower back pain management, shoulder injuries and has completed his level 1 sports physiotherapist course

Melissa Andreatta graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2012.  Melissa is a Burdekin local and works full time in our Ayr clinic.  As Melissa is our Senior physio in Ayr, she has a special interest in core strengthening and Pilates to help treat chronic pain and prevent re-occurring sporting injuries.  Melissa aims to help her patients be proactive in treating their pain and rehabilitation post injury.  Melissa also works closely with our sporting community.  She is the physiotherapist for Rhythm Edge Dance School and also is experienced with Pre-Pointe assessments.

Melissa has trained in occupational health, BounceBack, Mulligan’s concept, dry needling, level 1 & 2 DMA Clinical Pilates, Level 1 Spinal Course and level 1 Sports Physiotherapist. Melissa also completed training in Ante Natal and Post Natal Pilates in August 2014.  She now offers classes in Ayr every Thursday to help mum’s to be and new mum’s maintain strength and fitness and address pain.

Sanga graduated from James Cook University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree.

Sanga works full time at Performance Physio Group in Ayr.  Sanga enjoys the work in both musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory field, and particularly interested in the sporting arena (rugby union, league, touch football) both as a player and as a physiotherapist.  In 2016 Sanga was involved with Brolgas Rugby Union (Townsville Representative side) and the Junior Gold Cup U15 & U17 North Queensland Rugby Union teams as their Physiotherapist.

Sanga has also completed his Level 1 and Level 2/Advanced in Neuromuscular Dry Needling and most recently completed his level 1 Sports Physiotherapist.  He also runs hydrotherapy and a Strength and Conditioning small group class within the Ayr Clinic.

Megan Simmonds graduated from James Cook University in 2013 with a Bachelor degree of Physiotherapy.

Since completing her degree Megan works full time at our North Ward clinic. Her areas of interest include women’s health, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation and post-operative orthopaedic and surgical rehabilitation.

Megan is a qualified Women’s Health Physiotherapist and runs Ante Natal classes and workshops from the North Ward clinic.

Corinne Letizia graduated from James Cook University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Corinne is based at the North Ward clinic. Since completing her degree Corinne has become a qualified Women’s Health Physiotherapist. Corinne has also recently completed an advanced DMA clinical Pilates course. She also takes weekly small group sessions at our North Ward clinic. Corinne is also interested in neurological rehabilitation as well as antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy.

Lachlan graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor or Physiotherapy in 2015 and works full time in our North Ward clinic.

Lachlan has a keen interest in all sports and musculoskeletal injuries.  He is a level 1 Sports Physiotherapist and has played both tennis and cricket at a representative level.

Lachlan is also trained in the provision of dry needling and combines this with a hands-on approach to achieve the best results for his patients.  Other specials interests include post surgical rehabilitation and management of tendon injuries.

Bill graduated from James Cook University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Since graduating Bill has worked in a private practice in Cairns before returning to Townsville. Bill is based at  North Ward and is interested in all musculoskeletal injuries. Bill has a keen interest in shoulder and ankle injuries, orthopaedic rehabilitation and sporting injuries.  Bill has recently completed his level 1 sports physio course
